AURA PRICE (Chilean/American 1915-)
 
Aura Price began painting at age 85 when she received an oil painting set as a Mother’s day present. Since then Aura has been painting regularly and has exhibited at Marin-Price Galleries in Chevy Chase, Maryland and at Roglan Gallery in Barcelona, Spain. She has also been selected for the collection of "Mundo Naif," a prestigious web site (www.mundonaif.com) dedicated to naif paintings.
Her work reflects her life in Chile as she remembers it. Aura Price paints the scenes with the use of color and light. In this sense she is of the naive school. Aura is completely self taught.
Her life as an artist is her latest avocation and she now finds peace and solace in her paintings. Aura Price (prior to taking up painting) has been a spouse, a mother, a grand mother, and great grand mother, a business woman, a writer, and an accomplished horsewoman (Chilean jumping champion at ages 18 and 19), a political activist, and a writer of crossword puzzles.
